How can a fertilized egg, a embryo, a fetus, a baby, a young child, a teenager, and an adult share the same genome created at conception without sharing the right to life?
Every human cell, in the body or outside of it - except red blood cells, eggs, and sperm cells - contains a complete human genome. Do each of those cells have an individual right to life?
An honest question. Those cells in our feces and other secretions could be kept alive. And they would divide and multiply.
That said, I am completely opposed to 'termination' of a viable fetus. Where pregnancy termination is necessary for the mother's life or health, these babies can obviously be saved, most of the time.
I'm opposed to pregnancy termination in the 2nd trimester as well, unless medically necessary. I'm honestly unsure about the first trimester, and am still considering information on this.

The question is, when does a person get a soul? With their first breath, like Adam? Or at conception? Or somewhere in between?
I've long heard and read that the soul was traditionally thought to enter the body with the first breath. That this is why it was customary to say, 'God bless you!' when someone sneezed, as it was thought the soul momentarily left the body with a sneeze.
Others believe this happens at conception. But what makes that cell different from any other cell? Or any other stem cell?
Or is the spark of the divine in everything?
It might be more important to determine when a soul gets a body.

From a practical standpoint, would laws that ban abortions after 10-12 weeks (with appropriate exceptions for the life & health of the mother) save more babies than holding out for an absolute ban?

Since it takes up to 6 days for the fertilized egg to implant in the uterus, most pregnancies can be prevented in an ER, making rape and incest poor excuses for having a fetus ripped apart weeks later.
I believe in a non-local universal intelligence of which souls are subsets, so they wouldn't need to be created.

The problem is "We the People" have been asleep and allowed these things to happen. It was on our watch! Our lack of involvement with who represents us has caused dictators to step in. Now we have to get involved and change this corrupt system. If NY goes down, this craziness will spread across the country. I am talking about myself here too. I am now a member of the Republican committee. I never ever thought I would get involved in politics, but I realized I can't complain or run from something without trying to fix it first. Changing the system has to start with people like you and me.

There are so many of us trying something, anything!! Our rights were stripped away lil at a time and I now comprehend that is how to get them back (I wants a cataclysmic event, but that is not likely)
A Modest Proposal is a satirical essay by Jonathan Swift that proposes that the Irish poor sell their children as food to wealthy English landlords.
It seems that Proposition One on the ballot has an overwhelming number of items including "Our Body Our Choice" (not about mandatory injections or children)
Also the state looks to control medical decisions about children, not parents. Their Body, Their Choice?
Why not have numerous proposals for each item?
One way to reject this hodge podge of items would be to vote NO, until each issue has its own Proposal.
This is a modest proposal.
Parents have a long established "property interest" in their children. If we are free and not slaves, we own our bodies. The children that come into the world through our bodies are likewise ours, until they reach adulthood.
Just as the children of slaves or those in "involuntary servitude" belonged to the owner of their mother, if we do not "own" our children, the government does.
If we do not have the right to accept or refuse any medical treatment or intervention, we are not free people, but property. Slaves.

Unwanted touch is battery.
