That's a great idea! To me, the position is just a figurehead -- and not a very good one. Keep in mind I saw the big mistake the government made decades ago with its low-fat, obesity-causing food pyramid.

AND we'd have one less "expert" to pay. DOGE should be all over this one!

"The nation's doctor."

The Nation didn't have one at Lexington and Concord. Or Cowpens. Or Antietam or Gettysburg or 1,000 other places.

It's all about control. Great piece Bobbie Anne.

Indeed, there are two types of people, those who want to control others, and those who don’t. Unfortunately we can’t discern a politicians inner motivations.

All of your points are very well taken. However, since it is unlikely that the position of Surgeon General will be eliminated, I recommend a substack article by Dr. Naomi Wolf, from yesterday (5/10/2025) titled, "The Imaginary Casey Means". Prior to having read this, I thought that Dr. Casey Means might be the breath of fresh air that this position has long needed. The article by Dr. Naomi Wolf has me re-thinking that. It can be found on Dr. Wolf's main substack page.

Thanks for bringing this up. I've heard that Naomi Wolfe had reservations about Casey Means, but had not yet read her piece.

However, Casey Means and her brother both seemed knowledgeable about the flaws in our 'medical industrial complex', passionate about countering the abuses of patients by that system,, and sincere in their desire to refocus medical care on what can be done to support health and address root causes of disease during their long interview with Tucker Carlson.

"Casey Means was a Stanford-educated surgeon. Her brother Calley was a lobbyist for pharma and the food industry. Both quit their (highly lucrative careers) jobs in horror when they realized how many people were being killed by the systems they participated in. "

Agreed. I watched Casey and Calley Means on Tucker Carlson too. Both had a conscience to alert about the wrongs they were witnessing in their respective careers .

They were brave to stand up, when they could have kept quiet and let the deliberate killing continue. They chose not to.

Excellent commentary and good reminder to the Current Federal administration to “keep on cutting” the federal jobs and “pork” projects. We are all brainwashed into thinking that the “Govmint” will save us.

I have a bit of a different take on things. The office of Surgeon General is not the problem. Globalists are. They have co-opted the office. We need to stop the globalists. (And no, humans don't cause climate change, unless they sent up planes with particles intended to dim the sun.)

It is right and proper to pass a law banning smoking in places open to the public. Second hand smoke kills. It killed my mother-in-law. From lung cancer. She was a lifelong non-smoker, but subjected to heavy smoke at work. Smoking in the presence of another person is a tort. Laws are properly made against torts.

Taking a person from his home and forcing him into a camp didn't start with Covid. It's been going on for decades, taking people who are allegedly mentally ill and locking them up in facilities funded by the government, giving them kangaroo trials, and refusing to release them unless they take pharmaceutical poisons. For thought crimes. And that's where the erosion of freedom of speech also began.

The Surgeon General can and should do a critically important job: expose fraud. There are many fraudulent claims about smoking, pharmaceuticals, food, etc. that all have to do with physical health. For him to alert the American people to this kind of fraud is what he SHOULD be doing, and moreover, he should have the ability to initiate legal action against people making fraudulent claims. Of course the pharmaceutical industry and the tobacco industry have also put the brakes on that, and they do need to be dealt with.

But I think you're starting off in the wrong place and coming to erroneous conclusions. Get at the things that are corrupting the office of Surgeon General, and leave him or her alone to do an honest job. Limit the scope of his authority to dealing with issues of physical health and the way in which foods and drugs have an impact on that.

The original etymological definition of the word "pharmaceutical" means "to practice witchcraft”. The word medicine means "poison". So your so called "surgeon general" is the head witch. When you have a medical dependency you are under a witchcraft spell because now they can control you through your medical dependency. I'm trying to end medical dependencies as it's slow poisoning. It's weird how the hospital can save your life but now I see that they saved your life, you are now obligated to their pharmaceutical program to make them money.

I also think we should get rid of governorship.
