In retrospect, it can be argued the displacement of people from rural to urban areas basically enabled those at the top of the industrial revolution ladder to reap the benefits. They have become so wealthy they now basically control the major global industries. The labor unions spoken of were a good thing, but only if looked at from a narrow closed off perspective, missing the bigger picture. The creation of cities did not turn out to be a good thing at all.
