Great essay Bobby. Several things come to mind. First I think such an attmept at confiscating or really nationalizing property could be jammed up and challenged in court. Of course it depends on the judge. If you get an activist judge you're screwed. If not it can get jammed up. You're an attorney I'm not is this the case? I also think if this happens there will be massive push back that could literally lead to open violence in the streets. I can't imagine landlords just laying down to such nationalization.

I go to the apartment and there's frying pans on the stove full of coagulated bacon fat that the pan would need a quadrouple bypass. In the silverware drawer cooked eggs. I questioned her and she said her son did it. Well why didn't she clean up? She forgot perhaps all the Henessey she drank caused the memory lost. Evenually I got the problem fixed. She was always calling 311 to the point when 311 called me and I told them who it was and the address, they told me we'll cancel the complaint. After 2008 I sold the house fast and the new owner took the tenants. I heard he got her out in 2 weeks offering her $3,000 to hit the road. That should've kept her in bacon and Henessey for a while. You can't make this up.
