My dad also was a great man, standing up against corruption and wrong in the NYS education system. He was a very special man and his example influenced us kids to this day. He used to work in Westchester and was in high demand as a speaker around the NEast until we moved upstate.
I remember well when the NYS dept of Ed was going to take away some essential equipment from his classroom and he jumped into his old car he loved left to him by his mom and drove right to the governor office. He had his equipment safe and sound by the end of the day.
He showed us kids to stand up in the face of the giants too.
My mom fought to keep him home during cv because she knew the hospitals were ending lives and not letting families be with loved ones. It was hard on her but we are so glad she fought to keep him home until he went to heaven.
I want to say how proud my family is of you and your office and what you guys have done for all of us.
America fought a Civil War because one political tradition refused to stop making race the organizing principle of law and power. The modern Democrat Party is dragging the country back toward that poison through racial redistricting, DEI, “equity,” protected-class expansion, and identity-based constitutional engineering. Cox’s fights against quarantine camps, DCCC redistricting, and Prop 1 all point to the same disease: radical government actors using nice words to concentrate power. New York almost fell for it. Some of it passed. That is why #TakeBackNY matters. The answer is colorblind constitutionalism, equal citizenship, and fearless litigation against race-based political control.
I admired my father greatly as well. He was so honest and truthful. He worked hard all his life and provided for my mother and I. I didn't get everything I asked for, but I knew he loved me. The older I got, the wiser he seemed, as I could finally understand his reasoning much better. We lost him way too soon. My mother lived another 10 years, but we always missed him deeply.
The recent Supreme Court decisions involving race as a factor for things like election redistricting and college admissions would certainly strike down a law setting up special protected classes. Raising a challenge to the level of the Supreme Court would be a remedy for this.
