The Bill of Rights, is a part of the Constitution. Every Amendment carries the same legal weight as any of the other Articles of the Constitution.
For those cheated by public education... the Bill of Rights was not included in the first VII Articles because the federation government, or those individuals who have accepted positions in government- elected, appointed, or hires - had ONLY the limited and defined authority spelled out in the Constitution. However, some people wisely understood that people in government tend to take more and more power, and agreed to ratify the Constitution on the condition that the Bill of Rights would be added asap.
The Constitution, including Amendments I to X, do NOT grant or give us any 'rights'. Instead, they specifically protect our rights from government.

-"Truths" does not mean opinion, viewpoint, beliefs, etc, as important as those are to the individual. We must not allow the 'watering down' of our language, to allow those entrusted with the authority of government positions to misconstrue the "plain language" (as the courts often say) of the Founding Documents.
-The words 'man' and 'men', depending on context, refer not only to adult male humans, but also to all people. They come from the Latin 'manus' for hand- not another body part.
-"Equal" does not mean identical. Every citizen of these States should read Jefferson's original draft of the Declaration, which is very close to the version signed- except for a good sized portion railing against slavery.
IMHO, it is an inexcusable practice, yet it had existed for thousands of years on at least four continents, essentially since the dawn of 'civilization'. In some places and times, different word were used- like serfs. The main difference between a serf and a slave was that ownership of serfs was transferred with the land.

I am reading Jonathan Turley's book on the First Amendment. It is as fascinating as it is easy to read. We are very fortunate that the First Amendment was written at all. Some believed it unnecessary and others that it would restrict the fledging government too much. While we owe much to James Madison and Jefferson, we owe more to British men from hundreds of years ago who were flogged or had their ears cut off for openly opposing tyranny.

The Bill of Rights, is a part of the Constitution. Every Amendment carries the same legal weight as any of the other Articles of the Constitution.
For those cheated by public education... the Bill of Rights was not included in the first VII Articles because the federation government, or those individuals who have accepted positions in government- elected, appointed, or hires - had ONLY the limited and defined authority spelled out in the Constitution. However, some people wisely understood that people in government tend to take more and more power, and agreed to ratify the Constitution on the condition that the Bill of Rights would be added asap.

I am reading Jonathan Turley's book on the First Amendment. It is as fascinating as it is easy to read. We are very fortunate that the First Amendment was written at all. Some believed it unnecessary and others that it would restrict the fledging government too much. While we owe much to James Madison and Jefferson, we owe more to British men from hundreds of years ago who were flogged or had their ears cut off for openly opposing tyranny.

(Rights, obviously, are not mentioned because they are UNalienable. )

Does this then give to every citizen the "privileges and immunities" the State constitutions of each state?

"One nation under God" is not from any of our founding documents, but from the 'Pledge of Allegiance', which was written in the late 1800s, and revised for a magazine promotion around the Columbia Exposition celebrating the 400th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in the New World. It wasn't formally adopted by Congress until 1942. The words "under God" were added in 1954.

"One nation under God" is an inaccurate description. As Bobbie points out, the States are not subdivisions of a nation. They are "Free and Independent States" that formed an alliance- first under The Articles of Confederation, and later under the Constitution, for certain limited and defined purposes.
Declaration of Independence -
"We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in general Congress assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the Rectitude of our Intentions, do, in the Name and by the Authority of the good People of these (former) Colonies, solemnly Publish and Declare that these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, Free and Independent States;
that they are absolved from all Allegiance from the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is, and ought to be, totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do.

Later, We the People, through our agents in our State governments, created the federation of our Free and Independent States, delegating certain enumerated and defined powers to the federation government for certain specific purposes:

Yet the creators of the Constitution *failed* to divorce our Republic from the influence of European trade groups such as East India Company and banking dynasties as the Rothschild bank.
After all is said and done, international corporate trade groups are simply racketeering and extortion systems operating under royal decree and color of Law. Regarding alleged "tyranny".

One thing to keep in mind:
"We the People" "ordain(ed) and establish(ed) this Constitution for the United States of America", through our "agents", the representatives in each of the original States. And later adopted by the People of each State that voted to later join the federation.

Like any other agent, every one in any government position has only the authority to do what the principle - we the people - has delegated the authority to them to do.
