I promised myself I would not write about the November 8th election. For days I put off writing this article, hoping another prominent topic would come up for me to focus on and write about. If I have been avoiding the world, and even my closest friends, the past few days so as not to discuss the election, then how could I possibly write an article about it?
Why don’t I want to talk about or write about the election? Because I have been so overwhelmed with utter disappointment and outright disgust since election day, I didn’t want to emote negativity to the thousands who will read this. After all, I’m the one who has, for the past couple years, been traveling the state, and beyond, giving countless speeches and interviews about how to fight (and defeat) tyranny… how to stand strong and emboldened in the face of overwhelming adversity… and how to find allies along the way, for there is always strength in numbers. Always.
If you’ve ever heard (or watched) one of my speeches, or interviews, or been to a symposium where I’ve been a panelist, then you know that I always try to first enlighten, then embolden, and always in the end, give hope. And yet, here I am, typing away, writing about the 2022 election. Deep down, I knew it was inevitable. Too many people have been reaching out to me to ask my opinion of the whole thing, and ask me, “What’s next?” and “Will you keep fighting for us, or are you leaving New York?”, so I feel obligated to respond. Here it is…
First let me quell my critics by saying, as I have many times before, this is not about a political party. It’s not about being a Democrat or Republican, or a Liberal or Conservative. It’s not about left or right.
It’s about being American. It’s about preserving our Constitution so that we can maintain our nation for generations to come. It’s about being lucky enough to have been born in the most amazing country in history, and using that gift to make the world a better place.
Do you know that I woke up on November 9th, and I felt like a failure? I felt like I, (the dragon slayer as I have been dubbed by the fabulous cartoonist Anne Gibbons), hadn’t done enough to sound the alarms about the complete massacring of our Constitution by Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, and the entire NYS Legislature Democrat majority. How could millions upon millions of people vote for these radical politicians who so brazenly defy and defile our Constitution? Yes, here in New York, but also across the country. They locked us down for months on end; put you out of business; forbade you from making a living whilst they still received their pay checks, in full, (your tax dollars to be precise); forced you and your children to wear masks; mandated the COVID19 shot for work/play/life; kept you from holding the hand of your dying parent or grandparent… New Yorkers have been under a constant attack by our government for almost 3 years now. Our rights have been disappearing at an astonishing rate thanks to the tyrannical reign of the one-party rule, which has been Democrats-gone-wild.
You annoyed that I’m calling out a party by name? If so, then let me point out: 1) Those are the facts. Dems have had complete and unfettered control at the state level for years now. 2) To all my Democrat and Liberal readers, don’t worry, my dig on Republicans is coming up shortly here. Just keep reading!
Did you know that since 2018, the Democrats have controlled the New York State Senate with a super-majority, the Assembly with a super-majority, and the Governorship?! Oh, and if you live in NYC, they have been in complete control there too. One party rule at its absolute finest. Let me ask you a question: how’s that working out for you?
More specifically: Do you feel safe? Do you feel free? Are your children happy and thriving, or are they suffering or struggling? How’s your bottom line at the end of the week after you’ve bought your groceries, filled up your car with gas, and paid your energy bills? Do you like being told what to wear (particularly on your face) or what drugs to take?
(Editor’s note: If you care to know my political affiliation, which I have never revealed before now because it has no bearing whatsoever on the work I do to save our Constitution and our society, then be sure to watch my interview on American Thought Leaders with fabulous host, Jan Jekielek. It’s truly a riveting interview. At least that is what my budding fan base seems to think. I love you guys, by the way. Your notes, cards, voicemail messages and emails of encouragement really mean a lot. Thank you!)
So let’s get to the point here. This is why Kathy Hochul beat Zeldin. And why the Republicans couldn’t even break the super-majority in the NYS Senate. Or at least this is the single most glaring reason that I am being told…
